January 26, 2003
Snow falling like feathers greeted me this morning when I woke up! Much snow later in the morning. We had lunch around 1 p.m. and a family meeting for the division of labor on housechores.
At around 2 p.m. everybody was getting ready to the mountains. We went to Engelberg, around an hour drive from Hergiswil. Engelberg is a tourist destination for winter famous for their ski resorts and ski school. The drive to Engelberg is breath taking. Snow capped mountains and fields... a sight to behold. I used to see this view only in calendars...now it's right before my eyes. Awesome!!!
While in Engelberg we did some sleigh ride, some snow fights, and just lying on the snow and make 'angels' marks on the snow. I did some "schlitteln" - (Swiss German word "to sleigh ride" but in Germany it is known as "Rodeln"). I wonder how many times I'd walk up the snowy uphill and then slide all the way down. At first, I was so slow...and was holding the breaks all the time. Eventually, I got the hang of it....I was just speeding down......like an F1 racer!
After that sheer fun of speed....we had to go back. We first dropped by the little "touristy" shops in Engelberg. Just did some window shopping....because they were "aber teuer"--- very expensive! Around 5pm, we headed home and I once again relished that beautiful drive. Simply breathtaking!
We had "Fundue" for dinner.. "Brot" --bread dipped in melted cheese, plus a shot of kirsh mixed in it (Kirsh tastes like Gin!)

That Jetplane song again on the taxi on the way to the airport. Cousins Maricris and Ana Rica, and close friends Kharla and Kristina, send me off to the airport. Talk about playing hide-and-seek at the NAIA, right Kharla and Kristina??
Tough line at NAIA, with my luggage checked in after some haggling with the hudlums at NAIA. Onboard the plane for Singapore... Amazing it is...Onboard flight safety instructions in sign language. Found myself glued in that mini TV infront of me.
January 19, 2003 - Sunday, Zurich. Switzerland
Arrived at the airport very early morning. Foggy it is. Waited for my checked in luggage to come out. Twas the last to go out! Uncle Peter, Auntie Oskeeh and Mike were already outside waiting. January 23, 2003 - Thursday January 24, 2003 - Friday
We had visitors who came over for lunch. Had a full meal of tasty monggo with pechay, and puto maya (suman) for dessert. Hmm yum yum! Spent the whole afternoon installing and uninstalling ibm via voice, without not much of luck.
In the afternoon,I barged in Alan's room and borrowed his internet. I sent a couple of emails and chatted with Maro and Agnes via MSN, just like old times!
Later, I went with Alan, Mike, Uncle Peter and his friends to Lander Park in a restaurant. Mike and Alan ordered for me Apellermagrone. It is macaroni, with cheese and onion, and some apple jelly for dessert. I was very very full that it wanted to come out. Ewww...but I just had so much of vomit-control that I managed to let the macaroni stay where it is supposed to be. After some "fine" dining, we went to get some groceries. Then we drove next to MediaMarkt, it's a haven for gadget-audio and video freaks! My favorite part, the ALL-YOU-CAN listen CD sampling booth. All CDs there have one sample copy already opened and can be tried out. There was just too many CDs that I ended up listening to only one...a Billy Crawford CD..ika nga...Proud to be Pinoy! teheee
Home we go. It's really getting cold out there! brrrrr. Madeleine, about 20 years of age,and our next door neighbor, dropped by and invited me to go to Luzern tomorrow for some clubbing...But, I don't think I could ever go. Too early to be going out there on my own, without the full blessings of my guardians here. :-)
Spend the whole night tinkering again on this laptop for the ethernet wireless connection. Had it installed properly alright and it was running but just can't seem to connect to the internet. Pfft. ach Schade! Oh well, tomorrow some Tech Help would come over and see what's wrong.
Now it's 1 a.m. Jan. 25th. I'm off to sleep! Tscheuss! German words learned today:
Gruezi - "hello" or something of that Nature... It is Swiss-German, used when greeting strangers. (or so I observed..hehe) gau - it means something like "you know!". Another Swiss German expression. I hear this all the time!
